Feminist Philosophy explores new perspectives for problems of academic philosophy and takes up issues and concepts from the feminist movement. Within the framework of this lecture series, feminist philosophers present their current research. Both "traditional" philosophical topics such as justice, critical theory, identity and didactics as well as topics of non-canonical philosophy such as gender, androcentrism, discrimination and intersectionality will be covered. Thereby, this lecture series offers an overview of current research in Feminist Philosophy. Depending on the speaker, some talks will be in German and some in English.
The lecture series is organised by the student group AG Feministische Philosophie. Following the end of Prof. Dr. Mari Mikkola’s professorship and the subsequent loss of the chair for practical philosophy with its focus on feminist philosophy, the group takes a stand for the continuation of feminist philosophy at Humboldt University. Apart from the lecture series the group organises a colloquium, a seminar and several reading groups in the summer term 2018.
