Ultrafast quasiparticle dynamics at hybrid inorganic/organic interfaces

Objectives

The main objective of this project lies on the investigation of charge carrier and energy transfer processes at WS2-based hybrid inorganic/organic systems (HIOS) interfaces using a set of complementary femtosecond time-resolved linear and non-linear optical spectroscopic techniques. In addition, these will be combined with spatially resolved (20 nm) atomic force (AFM) and scanning near field optical microscopy (SNOM). The research will particularly focus on the development of a deeper understanding of the impact of energy level alignment and dielectric screening on the ultrafast dynamics of charge carriers and excitons at TMDC-organic interfaces (TMDC: transition metal dichalcogenide), which will be used for (local) functionalization.
